
Helen Jukes has written two critically acclaimed books, A Honeybee Heart Has Five Openings and Mother Animal, both of which combine elements of research and personal narrative to explore the lines of influence running between us and other species. Helen’s work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Port Magazine, Aeon and others.
As a tutor, she has led writing workshops for universities, literary organisations, a homelessness charity and a prison; alongside her role at Faber Academy she currently teaches at the University of Oxford, and lives with her daughter on the edge of the Peak District.
