We’re delighted to announce our free Writing a Novel events for summer 2025 at Faber Academy.
Join us for an Open Evening at our London offices, sign up for a taster session in Newcastle or participate in our online Writing a Novel webinar from the comfort of your home. London Open Evening

Join us on Thursday 14 August as we open the doors for our ever-popular Open Evening at The Bindery. You’ll take part in a one-hour introductory workshop and engage in a dynamic Q&A session with our tutors before mingling with fellow writers over drinks.

Join us for an insightful webinar with Writing a Novel course tutor Sarah May. This online session will provide a comprehensive introduction to our flagship Writing a Novel course, and Faber Academy staff will be available to answer your questions.
Newcastle Taster Sessions
We’re delighted to be back in The Common Room, Newcastle at the beginning of September with a brand new line-up of taster sessions before our autumn iteration of Writing a Novel starts.
Choose from two different time slots for An Introduction to Writing a Novel with Richard T. Kelly, or sign up for our first ever Newcastle Writing Afternoon. Faber Academy staff will also be available all morning to answer any questions you may have about the courses.

Writing Afternoon
Want some focused time to write alongside other writers? Join us at The Common Room for our very first Newcastle Writing Afternoon. Tickets cost £5 and include complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits to fuel your writing session.
Writing a Novel is designed to support aspiring fiction writers to develop their craft over six months, with courses in London (at Faber’s HQ in Hatton Garden), Newcastle and online.
A six-month programme of seminars, sessions will cover all the essentials of novel writing – including character, story, structure, plotting, voice, dialogue, conflict and more.
